Standard & Custom Rigid PVC Profiles Specifications
Meltpoint Plastics International manufactures high-quality extruded rigid PVC profiles designed to provide structural support, thermal efficiency, and long-term durability. Available in standard and custom configurations, our rigid profiles are engineered for window and door systems, lighting fixtures, and diverse industrial applications.
We offer extruded rigid PVC profiles in standard finishes—including white, black, grey, and bronze—to seamlessly integrate with varying architectural framing and commercial designs.
Application & Component Guidelines
PVC Thermal Breaks
Rigid PVC thermal breaks are engineered to interrupt heat transfer in metal framing, significantly improving the energy efficiency and condensation resistance of commercial fenestration systems.
-
Key characteristics: Low thermal conductivity and excellent structural rigidity
-
Typical hardness range: 75–95 Shore D, formulation dependent
-
Material properties: High impact resistance, thermal insulation, and dimensional stability
-
Applications: Aluminum commercial windows, doors, storefronts, and curtain wall assemblies
Rigid PVC Clips & Retainers
Engineered for reliable mechanical retention, rigid PVC clips provide secure snap-in, tap-in, or slide-in assembly for glazing, screen panels, and weatherstripping.
-
Key characteristics: Precise snap-fit tolerances and high tensile strength
-
Typical hardness range: 75–95 Shore D, formulation dependent
-
Material properties: Excellent pull-out resistance, rigidity, and long-term durability
-
Applications: Glazing beads, screen clips, panel retainers, and interlocking window assemblies
Lighting Industry Profiles
Our rigid PVC profiles provide durable, lightweight housings, mounting tracks, and baffles for commercial and architectural lighting systems.
-
Key characteristics: Consistent color dispersion and clean surface finish
-
Standard color options: White, black, grey, bronze
-
Material properties: UV stability, structural support, and robust impact resistance
-
Applications: LED extrusion housings, mounting channels, light baffles, and fixture components
Custom Rigid Profiles
Our custom extrusion capabilities allow us to develop rigid PVC profiles tailored to specific installation, thermal, and mechanical requirements, including:
-
Custom widths, heights, and wall thicknesses
-
Application-specific snap-fit or friction-fit geometries
-
Hollow, solid, and multi-chamber profile configurations
-
Color matching beyond standard white, black, grey, and bronze
-
Coextruded capabilities (combining a rigid PVC structural base with flexible sealing fins)
-
Material formulation selections based on specific impact or UV resistance needs
Dimensional Stability & Assembly Performance
The performance of rigid PVC profiles relies heavily on precise wall thickness and tolerance control to ensure proper engagement in mating aluminum, vinyl, or wood channels.
For mechanical components like clips and retainers, engagement force and pull-out resistance are determined by the profile’s geometry and the inherent stiffness of the rigid PVC compound.
Technical Note: Structural and thermal performance varies depending on profile geometry, chamber design, wall thickness, and operating temperatures. Proper clearances for thermal expansion and contraction should be accounted for in the overall system design. Tolerance capabilities and performance parameters represent preliminary design guidance and should be validated through application-specific testing.
