COMMERCIAL WINDOWS, DOORS, AND STOREFRONT SYSTEMS

Meltpoint Plastics International, Inc. specializes in manufacturing custom plastic and rubber extrusions to meet the specific requirements of commercial door, window, and storefront manufacturers.

Architectural extrusions—ranging from glazing gaskets and weatherstripping to thermal barriers and door sweeps—are precision-manufactured profiles designed to integrate directly with aluminum framing. These critical components provide a tight seal against air and water infiltration, cushion glass panels, and help reduce heat transfer across the framing assembly. Whether functioning as a dynamic weather seal on a commercial entrance or a stationary glazing wedge in a storefront, these flexible and rigid profiles provide an economical, easily integrated solution for building protection.

Meltpoint Plastics International, Inc. manufactures precision-extruded plastic and rubber components designed for seamless integration into aluminum storefronts, commercial entrances, and architectural window systems.

Our custom-engineered profiles provide resilient interfaces between glass, metal, and mating framing components, helping prevent weather ingress and supporting energy-efficient, long-lasting architectural designs.

Engineered for High-Performance Storefront and Entrance Systems

Modern commercial storefronts and doors require systems that can withstand high foot traffic, extreme weather, and continuous operation while maintaining architectural aesthetics and energy efficiency. Incorporating specialized elastomeric and rigid nonmetallic components into framing and door assemblies helps manage structural stresses, seal out the elements, and control thermal transfer.

MPI can manufacture custom plastic and rubber profiles to fit your proprietary aluminum extrusion designs, incorporating precision snap-fit, slide-in, or press-fit (wedge) features for secure mechanical engagement and efficient factory or field assembly. In a typical application, a flexible rubber gasket or rigid plastic sweep slides or presses into the exterior aluminum framing system, forming a critical barrier between the interior environment and the outdoors.

Product Features and Benefits

  • Weather Sealing: High-performance rubber and plastic profiles minimize air, water, and dust infiltration at critical framing joints and door gaps.

  • Energy Efficiency & Thermal Control: Reduces thermal bridging and drafts, contributing to the improved thermal performance of the overall entrance or window system.

  • Acoustic Insulation: Resilient elastomeric components help dampen vibration and noise transmission for quieter interior environments.

  • Custom Engineering: Profiles can be manufactured to perfectly match proprietary door rails, stiles, and aluminum framing designs.

  • Precision Integration: Custom snap-fit, slide-in, and wedge-fit configurations allow seamless integration with mating aluminum extrusions.

  • Dimensional Accuracy: Controlled extrusion processes support consistent profile geometry and reliable assembly.

  • Application-Specific Materials: Compounds (including EPDM, Silicone, TPE/TPR, and rigid/flexible PVC) can be specifically selected according to compression set, UV resistance, and mechanical performance requirements.

  • Durability & Resilience: Engineered for excellent memory, weatherability, and longevity in demanding, high-traffic commercial applications.

Applications Our plastic and rubber extrusion profiles are suitable for integration into a variety of architectural applications, including:

  • Commercial storefront framing systems

  • Glass entrance doors (swing and sliding)

  • Fixed and operable commercial windows

  • Weatherstripping and door sweeps

  • Glazing gaskets, wedges, and setting blocks

  • Thermal barriers and isolators for aluminum framing

CURTAIN WALL SYSTEMS

Rigid PVC Thermal Isolators for Aluminum Glazing Systems

Custom Extruded Thermal Insulation Profiles for Commercial Windows and Curtain Walls

Meltpoint Plastics International, Inc.  specializes in manufacturing custom rigid PVC profiles to meet the specific requirements of window and glazing system manufacturers.

A thermal isolator is a precision-extruded plastic profile designed to attach to an aluminum window or glazing frame, helping reduce heat transfer between adjacent components or across portions of the framing assembly.  A technical distinction between a thermal break and a thermal isolator is that the thermal isolator is not an incorporated structural component of the frame but rather a “snap-on” or “slide-in” component on the frame assembly.  This provides a more economical solution while reducing heat transfer between panels.

Meltpoint Plastics International, Inc. manufactures precision-extruded rigid PVC thermal isolators designed for integration into aluminum window frames and architectural glazing systems.

Our custom-engineered profiles provide a low-conductivity interface between mating framing components, helping reduce thermal bridging and supporting energy-efficient window and façade designs.

Engineered for High-Performance Glazing Systems

Modern commercial buildings require window and glazing systems that combine structural performance, architectural aesthetics, and energy efficiency. Because aluminum readily conducts heat and cold, incorporating nonmetallic insulating components into framing assemblies can help manage unwanted thermal transfer.

MPI can manufacture rigid PVC thermal isolators to fit your proprietary aluminum extrusion designs, incorporating precision snap-fit or slide-in features for secure mechanical engagement and efficient assembly.

In a typical application, a rigid PVC profile snaps or and/or slides into the exterior aluminum framing system and forms part of the interface between mating window panels.

Product Features and Benefits

  • Thermal Insulation: Low-conductivity rigid PVC helps minimize heat transfer through designated framing interfaces.
  • Energy efficiency: Can contribute to improved thermal performance of the overall window system.
  • Condensation management: May help reduce condensation risk by limiting thermal bridging at the interface.
  • Custom engineering: Profiles can be manufactured to match proprietary aluminum framing designs.
  • Precision Snap-Fit and/or Slide-in Design: Custom configurations allow integration with mating aluminum extrusions.

  • Dimensional Accuracy:
Controlled extrusion processes support consistent profile geometry and reliable assembly.
  • Corrosion Resistance: Nonmetallic construction provides resistance to metallic corrosion.
  • Custom Profile Manufacturing: Extrusions produced to customer-supplied drawings and application requirements.
  • Application-Specific Materials: PVC compounds can be selected according to dimensional, mechanical, and environmental performance requirements.
